Texas Lodge No.8 is in the King William Historical area within walking distance of downtown San Antonio. The Lodge was chartered in 1923 and the present building was built in 1950. The lodgeroom floor has the FC winding staircase, which was custom cut and tiled into the floor. Which is 1 of only 3 in the State of Texas. In the mid 1950's, the Brethren of the Lodge desired new furniture for the Lodgeroom. They contacted the Grand Lodge of Texas and coincidentally, they had a complete set in storage that they themselves had purchased from the Grand Lodge of Missouri. Six matching large wooden chairs with leather seats and backs, One matching chair with a higher back for the WM and a matching altar, all found there new home in the Lodgeroom of Texas 8. The current WM now sits in the same chair as PGM Harry S. Truman did while presiding over the Grand Lodge of Missouri. Robert D. Riley,WM Texas Lodge No.8
